INTRODUCTION:
Pressing varies alloy powder in metal plate makes the non-evaporable getters. They are especially suitable for vacuum devices where evaporable ones are prohibited from using, or they can be used together with evaporable ones to increase gettering effects.
TK101 is THANKO’s Zr-Al alloy that is used in high temperature applications and if it is necessary that the getter does not operate during the manufacturing process.
TK198, THANKO’s Zr-Fe alloy that was made into DF tablets to offer a getter for lamps with lower activation and working temperatures than TK101. Its nitrogen sorption is not so efficient, and very good for nitrogen environment lamp.
TK299 is a mixture of two kinds of alloy which attempts to capture the best qualities of each alloy—the low activation temperature of TK198 and the high hydrogen sorption of TK101.
The latest TK787 alloy for HID lamps, TK787 is a Zr-Co-Rare Earth alloy that activates at low temperature, and TK787 has several advantages over the other alloys. TK787 has much greater hydrogen sorption than all the other alloys, and sorbs CO about as well as TK101.Thus, TK787 offers the best performance combination for activation and working temperatures and hydrogen sorption capacity.
These getters are good choices for high intensity gas discharging lamps, high-intensity switch tubes, gas purifiers, stainless steel vacuum flask. The non-evaporable getters can be activated by means of high-frequency induction, electrical heating, radiation heating or laser heating.
